When Home Becomes a Gasfield
Bradford County landowner and 6th generation Towanda resident Ruth Tonachel gave a talk "When Home Becomes a Boomtown" on the ways in which daily life and sense of place have changed since the arrival of the shale gas industry. Newfield resident Marie Terlizzi presented a Field Guide to Fracking with photos from Bradford County depicting all phases of gas drilling.

Drinking Water and Gas Drilling - What Are the Risks?
Dr. Steve Penningroth, Executive Director, Community Science Institute, spoke about “Monitoring Water for Gas Well Impacts”. Craig Schutt, Conservation District Manager, Tompkins County Soil & Water Conservation District (TCSWCD), discussed water resources, including aquifers, and the role of the TCSWCD in protecting them.
